Museon manages the most important collection of drawings from the camps set up by the Japanese in World War II in Netherlands East Indies, Burma, Thailand and Japan. The drawings, made by artists famous and unknown, present a varied picture of hard camp life. Various subjects are covered, from faces to themes such as food, children, hygiene, sickness and death.
In the next part of this digital exhibition we present a part of these drawings, thematically organised and accompanied by spoken testimonies.
